Overseeing a Complete System Architecture for a Global 3PL Provider

A global 3PL provider with over 2500+ trucks was operating using a 25+-year-old internally developed legacy software platform.  The system had internal and customer software integrations to EDI, Mobilecomm, Imaging, Business Intelligence, and many other necessary platforms to provide their customers with data and reporting. 

The provider contracted GLCS to provide guidance, support, and oversight mapping a complete Solution Architecture companywide with significant emphasis on process improvement and migration to a new Transportation Management System (TMS).  Work included process analysis across the 3PL's customer base, defining current and future state processes resulting in improved efficiency and increased profits for the client. 

During this engagement, the GLCS team improved internal processes on a customer by customer basis and simplified planning and dispatch, resulting in less processing time for users.  This led to more accurate real-time data, which resulted in users' ability to make critical decisions impacting the operation in real-time, providing an increased level of service, including better internal and external reporting to their users and customers.
